Seven top tips for closing a sale
It’s the moment of truth. Is all your hard work going to pay off? Here are our top 7 tips for successfully closing a sale.
Earn the right
Before you can expect to close the sale ask yourself, have I earned it? Have you delivered everything you said you would, have you been professional and turned up on time and been a brand advocate? If the answer is yes, then you can ask for the sale.
Present your proposal in writing
Always confirm your offer in writing to show your customer exactly what they are going to get from you.
Create a sense of urgency
Create a sense of urgency to get your customers commitment. This may involve a time sensitive offer or something more creative.
Always negotiate from your seat. Going from being seated to standing up allows your customer to end the conversation and leave the room.
Always carry a pen
Imagine, your customer goes to sign the contract but neither of you have a pen. Check your briefcase before heading into the meeting to make sure you have at least one pen as well as a back up to make sure.
Be prepared not to close
Always build a contingency plan. What are the next steps if you don’t close today? Plan for a no but hope for a yes.
