Q and A
What do you love about your role?
One of the things I love about my job is the atmosphere in the office. There is an energy here that I felt immediately on the first day – warmth, positivity, fun, a sense of being an important part of the team no matter what your role is here. I love that every day is the same but also different – there are new clients to talk to, new reps from media partners, new employees both in our office and in our other global offices. I have loved getting to know some of my counterparts in the UK and Australia through Skype meetings. I feel like I’m part of something unique and new as a CRE. This role was only created this year – it’s exciting to be breaking new ground and growing with the company.
What has been your career path to date, how did you progress to the NRS Media role?
I had been in Customer Service and then B2B Sales with a telecommunications company and then an Office Supply chain. I had been missing that feeling that I was bringing something worthwhile to my customers and was seeking a role where I could make real connections with people and impact their lives/businesses in a positive way. Being a Customer Retention Executive allows me to make those connections with our customers.
How long have you worked for NRS Media?
I joined NRS Canada in March of this year. The time has flown by! There has been a lot to learn – we are growing and learning every day. I love that part!
What’s different about working for NRS Media?
I have worked for a number of larger companies and one thing that is so different is that the heart of the company has just that – heart. Not many leaders take the time to talk with all of their team members and really want to hear what we have to say as employees. I truly feel like my work is valued and that I can voice my thoughts. That is really refreshing and makes getting up each day to go to work a joy.
What have you learnt during your time at NRS Media?
I am a creature of habit and my family would tell you that I resist change. I have learned (possibly even embraced) that things change and grow rapidly at NRS. It’s a lot of fun being part of something new and growing! I have been given the opportunity to take an online course to strengthen my skills as well.
